Updated Rourke Dinosaur Library- Mamenchisaurus
It had been raining even before the sun had risen. It was almost noon and the rain was still falling. Mamenchisaurus bit off a tasty mouthful of leaves from the high branches of the tree. He swallowed them quickly and then took another mouthful as he did so. Mamenchisaurus was always hungry and spent most of his time eating. Was Jurassic Park Meant to be Accurate?
I use to defend Jurassic World’s inaccurate dinosaurs with the whole ‘genetics’ excuse, but the more as time went on, and after researching the production history of the original Jurassic Park, I started to have second thoughts on this opinion. Well folks, I’ve seen the light (technically I saw it about a year and a half ago, but kept forgetting to mention it here. i apologize for that). I now know that it WAS meant to be as accurate as possible (meaning a lot of my older arguments were wrong, and I also apologize for them). This video here, made by the YouTube channel Unnatural History Channel, goes into great detail and does a fantastic job at explaining that the original Jurassic Park DID try to focus on scientifically accurate dinosaurs, and how Jurassic World completely failed at understanding this (he even points out that Colin Trevorrow himself tried to claim that the original was never meant to be accurate, but this straight up isn't true).
